A census is taking place in England and Wales on Sunday 21 March 2021. This is an event which usually only happens once every ten years, and it’s really important that everyone in these two countries can be accounted for on a census form.
But what if you’re blind or partially sighted? We know there is a great deal of anxiety in the community about the accessibility of the census, especially against the backdrop of COVID-19 and the difficulties that this brings in terms of finding sighted help. However, we also know that a great deal is being done to ensure that the census is as easy to complete as possible. The online form has been designed with accessibility in mind, you can receive your access code for the form by text message if you find it difficult to read your post, and you can even call the Census Team and complete the form over the telephone if using the internet is just too daunting for you.
To find out more, join us at this special event, where a team of technology and accessibility experts will be ready to answer all of your questions. If there’s a particular question you’d like us to answer, please just email us.
This session will replace our Friday Open Forum for one week only.
Please spread the word far and wide!
