Using Braille as a Presentation Tool, part 1

9th February 2021,
19:30 - 20:30

This session will cover using braille with PowerPoint and Google Slides. We’ll guide you through how braille output works with these pieces of software and the ways it can enable you to deliver more effective presentations. Next week we will continue looking at presenting in braille, with a focus on public speaking and preparing braille notes for use when delivering speeches.

This session is ideal for anyone who is required to deliver presentations for school, work, or in a voluntary capacity. It will also provide encouragement for any budding public speakers.

Book Club

11th February 2021,
18:00 - 19:00

Is the only reason you never judge a book by its cover because you can’t read the cover in the first place? Open to both new and more experienced braille readers alike, the Book Club is a small group who meet every week to answer each other’s questions regarding reading using refreshable braille and to practice reading amongst friends.

We are currently reading Kensuke’s Kingdom, by Michael Morpurgo. It can be found in the “Teens” folder on the RNIB Orbit Reader SD card in both grade 1 and grade 2.

This week we will read chapter 2.
